Terran Scheuffele Owner
My journey in the dental field began at 22 with my first role in an Oral Surgery office. Instantly captivated by the industry, I immersed myself in learning every facet of dental practice management. With the guidance of exceptional mentors, I gained invaluable insights and developed a deep understanding of the field.
My career took a personal turn when I married an accomplished Oral Surgeon. This new chapter provided me with a richer perspective on the clinical side of dentistry and involved me in managing his remote office. When his front office staff departed, I discovered that insurance claims had gone unfiled for over a year, which had significantly reduced revenue. This critical issue underscored the need for skilled management. Applying my knowledge, I successfully recovered over $200,000 in overdue claims.
I channeled these skills into a successful career as an Office Manager, working across various dental specialties including General, Orthodontic, and Oral Surgery. In 2013, I took a bold step and launched my own dental consulting business, recognizing a growing demand for expertise in billing and insurance management. This endeavor led to the establishment of Dental Billing Service in 2019.
A notable achievement in my career was uncovering a major fraud case involving an office manager who had embezzled funds from a dentist in Florida over two years. The fraud was exposed by a vigilant patient, leading to an extensive investigation and a possible 12-year prison sentence for the perpetrator.
I am passionate about helping dental practices optimize their insurance processes, minimize rejections, and maximize revenue. The positive feedback from my clients about the impact of my work is incredibly rewarding and fuels my commitment to advancing the dental industry. Having lived and worked in several states, I now reside in Idaho, where I enjoy spending my free time with my daughter, her husband, and my delightful two-year-old granddaughter, as well as cherishing moments with family, friends, and playing golf when the weather permits.
